FREE COURSE: A Trip around the DAMA Wheel

This 12-week series provides an overview of each slice of the DAMA wheel. You'll learn fundamentals about each area including:

Key terminology
Basic concepts
Organizational roles and responsibilities
Associated activities
Common metrics to measure performance
Real-world tips and best practices

Audience

Open to anyone. You can attend the entire series or individual sessions. Great opportunity for students, new practitioners, leaders, or anyone wanting to increase their data literacy in one or more of these areas. This is also a great overview before you begin studying for the CDMP exam.

CDMP® Fundamentals Study Group Fall 2026

DAMA-Minnesota is pleased to offer a CDMP® Fundamentals Condensed Study Group to support data professionals preparing for the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) exam.

This condensed study group follows the DAMA-DMBOK® v2 and revised editions and is structured around the CDMP Fundamentals exam blueprint. Presentation material is self-studied and then group meets for a guided discussion and Q&A by experienced practitioners and CDMP credential holders.

The study group includes:

Weekly slide decks for you to self-study, focused on the most heavily weighted exam materials
Weekly discussion group for Q&A, exam tips, and practice questions
A structured, chapter-by-chapter approach aligned to exam weighting
A collaborative learning environment with peers across DAMA chapters

Schedule:

August 31 - October 5
Monday evenings, 6:00–7:30 PM Central Time
Pay-if-you-Pass Proctored Exam, October 7 @ DAMA Data Conference in Shoreview, MN

Exam registration and fees are managed separately through DAMA-International. Once again, we are authorized to offer the DAMA-International sponsored Pay-If-You-Pass CDMP fundamentals or any specialty exams. Sit for the exam at no cost. When you pass, pay the $300 fee and become officially certified. A score of 60% or great grants the Associate certificate and the CDMP title after your name; a score of 70% or great grants the person the Practitioner certification, and a score of 80% opens the door to the Data Master certification.

All study group sessions will be conducted virtually. You can take the exam in person on October 7 ($300) or online on your own timing ($311).

Practicing data management professionals seeking a structured refresher
DAMA members from Minnesota and partner chapters preparing for the October exam

Planning to Take a Specialty Exam?
If you’re preparing for a CDMP specialty exam, please coordinate with the CDMP Study Group Coordinator and register directly with the CDMP Support Team. They will help ensure the appropriate specialty exam is selected and made available for you on exam day.

Join DAMA-MN for DAMA Days 2026, a two-day professional development event bringing together data professionals, leaders, practitioners, educators, students, sponsors, exhibitors, and community partners.

DAMA Days is designed for people who care about trusted data, better decisions, stronger governance, data quality, analytics, data literacy, AI readiness, and the professional discipline of data management.

Workshop registration is available as an additional option for attendees who want to participate in deeper learning and facilitated professional development sessions. Workshop-only registration does not include lunch.

Attendees who register for a workshop will be asked to submit their workshop preferences after registration. DAMA-MN will use those preferences to assign workshop seats based on availability, room capacity, and registration timing.

Registration is expected to close approximately two weeks before the event to support catering, planning, and event logistics.

Get in front of data professionals at DAMA Days 2026

The DAMA Days Exhibit Hall will be open October 6–7 at the Shoreview Community Center. Exhibitors can connect with more than 100 anticipated attendees representing data management, governance, architecture, analytics, education, recruiting, consulting, and related professional communities.

The $650 exhibitor registration includes one exhibit-hall table, chairs, and meals and refreshments, as well as a conference pass to attend presentations, for up to two registered exhibitor representatives on both conference days. Load-in instructions and event information will be emailed to the registered exhibitor contact before the event.
